Garden Sanctuaries and Medical Gardens
If you would like to create an area in your garden that is dedicated to quiet reflection, meditation or connection with your ancestors, we can help.
Similarly, if you have a kitchen garden or plan to create one, we can advice you on the medical and spiritual qualities of some of the common kitchen herbs.
We are not botanical experts, but we have researched some of the ancient qualities of plants, and through 'journey work' - a special kind of meditation - we can help you connect to the essence of the plant (or do this for you and the bring some advice and inspiration).
We just give inspiration and advice, and guide your inner work with your garden. We won't build your sanctuary for you, but if you need help, we can connect you with gardeners and pond-builders once you know what you would like to create.
How we will inspire your garden.
I offer these services along with my shamanic practitioner colleague Shenoah Taylor.
Many of our common kitchen herbs have been known and used as medical plants by our ancestors. They have a strong 'spirit' - an inner essence - that can heal and give us some new insights.
If you already have a herb garden, we can come and give you some information about the plants you grow. If you like, we can also lead you through a guided meditation to connect directly to the plant.. We call this 'journeying', see also our coaching pages).
If you like to grow a medical garden, we can give you some advice how to select your plants.
Building garden sanctuaries is not just a design exercise on the map. It is about connecting to our inner wisdom to find out what would make us feel at ease and what would inspire us when we are sitting in our garden. It is also about connecting to the essence of the garden; the plants and creatures who are already there, the elements, the ancestors of the land.
We can teach you how to connect to the garden in a guided meditation (journey work, see also our coaching pages). Or if you rather, we can do some journey work for you and then make some suggestions on how you can build your sanctuary.
