Reiki-Training for Carers of the Dying
This is a short, targeted introduction to Reiki skills for friends and relatives who support dying loved ones. The course will enable you to use Reiki to strengthen yourself and to support dying friends and family members in the last phases of their life. It does not qualify you at a Reiki 1 level, and you won't gain a Reiki 1 certificate.
If you are an End-of-Life practitioner and would like to use Reiki in a professional setting, this short course will not certify you to do this. You would need to take a Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 course, in order to qualify to give Reiki to patients/clients.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese transformation and healing system that was rediscovered early last century. Reiki means 'Universal Life Energy'. Eastern medicine, yoga and martial arts have always worked with this energy; it is known as 'Ki' in Japan, as 'Chi' in China, and 'Prana' in India.
Reiki can be given by slightly touching the body, working in the aura only (no touch), or long-distance. It is a non-invasive therapy with no side-effects or risk of overdose. As it is very gentle and safe, it can be used by all ages, including new-born babies, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, frail or very ill people, and the dying.
As a complementary method, Reiki is being used in GP surgeries, hospices, cancer support groups, drug rehabilitation, etc.
Benefits of Reiki for dying people and their carers
It is an excellent method to create more balance, calm, and peacefulness; for both dying people and their carers (it can be used for self-healing). Reiki can unblock tensions, re-balance the energy flow, and open energy channels. This has many benefits on a physical, mental and emotional level.
Regular Reiki Courses
I teach Usui and Karuna© Reiki, both courses and private lessons. After Mikao Usui - the founder of Reiki - passed away, Reiki took its own path in the West (as opposed to the more traditional Japanese way, which was hardly shared with outsiders, took a long time to learn and focused on meditation and spiritual development). In my courses, I try to be as close as possible to Usui's original teachings - and I also use some of the Western ways and attunements.
If you would like to join a Reiki course, please check below to see whether your level is scheduled. If not, please use the contact form to send me a note. Once a few people have registered an interest, we will schedule a course at a time that suits you.
It is lovely to learn Reiki with a group of friends or family; so why not ask some people to join you for your own 'private' group course. For groups of pet owners or keen gardeners, I can design a special training with Reiki 1 content and applications suitable for your animals or plants.
Private lessons are available if you have a busy schedule, and/or can't leave your baby, your dog or a person you care for. I can also come to you (ca. 1.5 hours around London, travel costs apply). Please contact us for more details.
Reiki Teaching / Attunements per Level
Usui Reiki 1 Attunments Course
Learning Reiki 1 feels like a celebration of yourself: supported by the lovely Reiki energy, you will re-connect to your magic and beauty, and explore your ability to transform and heal.
This course will allow you to use Reiki on yourself, helping with stress release, and restoring emotional balance, inner harmony and self-confidence. You will also learn how to use it on friends and family, and on your pets, plants, food, gifts, letters etc.
If you are new to self-development or energy work, this course may give you a whole new perspective on who you are and how 'things' work around you. If you have done energy work before, Reiki offers you an additional tool that can be used without any preparation or effort.
In this course, you will learn the basics of energy work and Reiki history and principles. You will practice the major hand positions for the treatment of yourself and others and learn about best practices when treating others. The most important aspects of this training are the attunements (some call these empowerments): the opening of your energy-channels (crown, third eye, heart and palms) which allow Reiki to flow freely.

Usui Reiki 2
Usui Reiki 3 (Master) Practitioner/Teacher
There are two options:
* To become a level 3 practitioner only, which entails participating in the first two days of the course only.
* To become a Reiki teacher and initiate others, which entails participating in all three days of the course. .
In either case, this course will attune you to the Usui and Tibetan Master symbols, which you can use for healing attunements and/or to initiate others.
The first two days of the course covers the attunements and advanced healing techniques (such as psychic surgery, Reiki for first aid, etc.). We will also discuss - in even greater depth than before - the ethical and practical considerations of treating others.
The last day (teachers only) covers how to initiate the other Reiki levels. We will discuss teaching and attunements methods and best practices, and you will teach a small section of the curriculum and get feedback.
Going to level 3 only makes sense once you have experience of using Reiki intensely on yourself and others. This is a role of great responsibility and you must be able to be a strong channel for the Reiki energy (with no ego attachment).
