Nature's Wisdom

Nature is our greatest ally when we want to find balance and connection in our lives. Being in nature is always healing  - doing ceremony and working with plants, rocks and rivers in a sacred way is even more empowering.

Guided Meditations in Nature

These are outdoor ceremonies where we visit selected trees, plants and other features of nature - and you will learn how to connect with them and ask them questions. For example, if you need to bring more flow into your life, we will go and sit with a local river and learn about flow. If you need more feminine power, we will pick a full moon night and spend some time outdoors. Depending on your needs, this can just be a one hour session in a local park - or a full day out of town.
These deep encounters with nature are especially valuable for people who live in an urban context and feel that they have lost connection with the beauty and wisdom of nature. After reconnecting in ceremonial ways, it will be easier to maintain this connection even in town.

Sacred Foraging

Sacred Foraging is not so much about going after a large crop of berries to make jam... It is about connecting deeper with mother Earth and experiencing her nurturing power - through receiving a gift (and giving something in exchange).
Based on your needs and interests, we go out to either gather plants - for tea, food or smudge - or other gifts of nature. What you need right now might be a piece of wood or a rock, which you can turn into garden art or use for meditation.
You will learn about:
  • safe and respectful ways of foraging
  • the healing and spiritual power of certain plants, and how to use them
  • the way our ancestors worked with plants; what they meant in the circle of the year

Wildflower Walks

I offer individual and group walks where you can meet local wildflowers, herbs and trees - and hear about their stories, folklore and ancient uses. Ethno-botany is the science of people's connection to plants; in a culinary, practical, medical and spiritual way. We will also talk about sustainable and respectful foraging, which is not about bringing in large crops, but receiving a small gift of nature to practice gratefulness.

Garden Sanctuaries

Would you like to create an area in your garden that is dedicated to meditation and reflection? A place where you can find inspiration and magic?

Before you step to the planning board, you may want to do some inner work:
  • The first step is connecting to the essence of the land; the four elements, the plants and creatures who are already there, and the ancestors who used to live in this garden. What would the land like to happen?
  • The second step is accessing your inner wisdom to find out what would make you feel calm and relaxed, and what would inspire you when sitting in your garden.

I can guide you on this journey but I won't build the garden for you.  Possible tools we will use are the Viusalisation journey and the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel.

Medicine Gardens

If  you have a kitchen garden or plan to create one, I can advise you on  the medical and spiritual qualities of some of our common herbs, and the folklore around them.
  • Many of our kitchen herbs are much more than tasty spices.
  • Many of the so-called 'weeds' can offer many blessings.
These plants have been known and used as medical plants for thousands of years. You can learn how to connect to their  strong 'spirit' - their inner essence - which can heal and give you some new insights. The plants will love it if you talk to them - and you may learn something that is not written in the herbal guide books.
All photos are from my journeys in the UK and abroad (besides the totem pole and medicine basket). They are here to celebrate the beauty of creation and remind us of our strength. To all our relations.
The art work is provided by some of my talented friends (see captions on pictures).
