Post-traumatic Stress Release:
Follow-up treatment for patients who have been traumatised by Covid 19 (Hospital, Ventilator-Experience, Long Covid, etc.)

Many people who have been traumatised through Covid (through hospital stay with no visitors, or being on a Ventilator - especially when heavily sedated or kept in an artificial coma) suffer from mental or emotional health problems after they are released from hospital. These problems can include depression, anxiety,  memory loss or mental blackouts.

There is evidence now -  confirmed by several psychiatrists in our network - that Soul Retrieval can help in these situations. It helps to feel whole and strong again after a traumatic experience.

For many patients, being on a ventilator is a traumatic experience. Triggered by this trauma,  part of their Essence can split off to find safety in the non-visual aspect of our reality. Even after the trauma is over, the core livelihood of these patients is not intact any more. Psychological treatment will have its limit here, as an important part of the patient - the patient's deepest Essence -  is absent, and cannot receive healing.  Our Essence (some may call this the Soul) can be seen as a jigsaw puzzle; when we experience trauma, puzzle pieces can get lost.

When people have suffered Soul Loss, their Essence usually comes back after a while - especially when they take good care of themselves:  spend time doing things they enjoy, connect with loved ones or spend time in nature. As we know, these healing activities are currently very limited based on the Pandemic restrictions.

In this situation, people suffering from Soul Loss may need a professional who can help them retrieve their Essence. Shamanic practitioners are trained to do this work.

What is a Shamanic Practitioner?

A shamanic practitioner is a person who has been trained in a set of methods to provide healing on a very deep level. These processes come from a rich source of ancient healing techniques, which have been simplified to make them applicable in an  urban context.

If Soul Loss has occurred, the shamanic practitioner can 'visit' the non-physical realm of our reality,  find the lost Soul parts and bring them back. The practitioner then will work with the client to help integrate these recovered parts of their Essence, and to prevent further Soul Loss. This work often enables other healing to happen.

The shamanic practitioner may also find additional hidden drivers of mental or physical challenges while doing Soul Retrieval work.
The many deaths, and the current stress and anxiety levels in our hospitals may cause an energy blockage for some patients and they will carry these blockages with them when leaving lockdown. They may feel deflated and can't understand why they can't get their usual energy levels back. They just may not feel like themselves any more. Again, a shamanic practitioner will be able to help, with methods that dissolve and cleanse these energy blockages, and help the client regain their balance.

Shamanic healing is thought to date back more than 30,000 years. It is still very much alive today in Native societies around the world. There is also a westernised version of it - a system called "Core Shamanism". This is a selection of tools and methods that can be used by trained shamanic practitioners who might not have been educated in a traditional context.

The core of Shamanic Healing

Illness has many faces, including emotional, physical, social and mental aspects.  Different medical systems specialise on different aspects of health.
The focus of Shamanic Healing is on the deep drivers behind a clients' symptoms. The goal is to strengthen and balance the Essence of a client - the 'Soul' as some may say -  so that the client  can re-affirm his/her self-healing ability.
Shamanic Healing can support the benefits of Western Medicine and other treatments - it does not replace seeing a doctor when you feel ill.

Your shamanic practitioner: Andrea Silver Bear

Andrea has studied 'Core shamanism' with Simon Buxton at the Sacred Trust in the UK,  and with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS), which was founded by the American anthropologist Michael Harner. The highlight of her education was the three-year program of Advanced Initiations for Shamanic Practitioners, the most in-depth educational program provided by the FSS.
Leo Rutherford from the Eagle's Wing Centre of Contemporary Shamanism (UK)  introduced her to the gifts of the Medicine Wheel.  And the Celtic aspects of Shamanism were taught to her by the acclaimed author and Shamanic practitioner Caitlin Matthews.
Andrea is a practicing member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and fully insured.

What happens in a session?

During the Lockdown, we will conduct our session in a remote way - per Zoom or Skype.
Your initial session will be about two hours long. It will consist of the following parts:
  1. Connecting: We will have a chat about your circumstances, hospital experience, and the healing approach we will take. This will also give you the chance to ask any questions you have.
  2. Healing work: This will be the Soul Retrieval or any other energy-work that came up when connecting with the non-physical reality.  During this part of the session, you will sit or lie down comfortably, and I might be drumming or singing. This helps me to concentrate and calm down  my busy 'left brain'. There might be moments of silence. You don't have to pay any attention or do anything - just relax and receive the healing.
  3. Debrief conversation, and giving you some resources to re-integrate your essence and to support your own healing.

After the first session, you might need some follow up work, where we do a quick update of how things have developed, and then do more shamanic healing work or a visualisation journey, where you can learn how to access some of your own healing resources.

our working principles

Will there be 'Healing'?

When you receive Shamanic healing, you work with your inner power, and with universal life energy and wisdom. The shamanic practitioner is only the 'hollow reed' who channels and focuses the healing energy. 'Healing' in the exact way you expect it cannot be predicted. We do not always understand our place in the universe.
Symptoms may or may not go away. Healing is a complex process; it means that you are getting 'whole' again. Sometimes symptoms serve a purpose on this journey, which may only become clear at a later stage in the process.

However, I have never witnessed a session that did not have benefits for the client. Clients feel stronger, more balanced and often more peaceful. Their self-healing power has been rebooted. Their ability to co-create and transform their lives has been strengthened.

Please note: Shamanic healing does not replace seeing a doctor or seeking medical advice.
All photos are from my journeys in the UK and abroad (besides the totem pole and wolf spirit). They are here to celebrate the beauty of creation and remind us of our strength. To all our relations.
